Oracle has released a new business intelligence application Primavera P6 Analytics, which it claims to help organisations identify issues and uncover trends to reveal insights into project and program performance.

The company said that the new offering, based on Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition Plus (BI EE), has the ability to support Oracle and non-Oracle applications and data sources. The software has more than 80 standard pre-built analytical views and allows companies to add to the pre-built views by customising additional views and dashboards.

According to Oracle, the new software includes a common web-based portal that helps users to access and navigate their dashboards and reports. It provides management-by-exception capabilities through interactive dashboard reports and enables organisations to benefit from reporting across the portfolio and insight into project trends and history.

Oracle said that Primavera P6 Analytics enables users to conduct root cause analysis and take corrective actions by drilling directly from its dashboard into Primavera P6 Enterprise Project Portfolio Management offering.

Joel Koppelman, senior vice president and general manager at Oracle’s Primavera Global Business Unit, said: "The addition of Oracle’s Primavera P6 Analytics to Oracle’s enterprise-class PPM suite helps overcome this challenge by significantly reducing project portfolio management blind spots.

"Furthermore, with pre-built analytics and flexible and intuitive dashboards, organisations can immediately begin to realise greater efficiencies through a level of transparency and visibility that was simply not possible until today."
