Outsourced messaging provider Azaleos Corp. and email management company M3 Technology Group have announced a merger to provide remotely managed Microsoft Exchange and related services. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The new combined company will operate under the Azaleos brand headed by the current Azaleos management team, but retaining service, support, and professional services employees from both organizations. Customers will be supported from two network operations centers in Seattle and Charlotte.

Phil Van Etten, chief executive at Azaleos, said: The merger of Azaleos and M3 Technology Group is a seamless technology and business marriage for both companies that establishes us as the clear market leader in the managed Exchange market. Together we have the size, scale, and bi-coastal operations to service organizations from the mid-market all the way up to the largest enterprises.

Tony Prince, CEO and president of M3 Technology Group, said: As soon as we began our initial business conversations, we knew this was a natural fit for both companies. The combined companies have the resources, expertise, and skilled personnel to capitalize on the very large market opportunity that exists for an on-premise and remotely managed alternative to hosted Exchange e-mail services.

The first product of the merged company will be a remotely managed service for on-premise Active Directory called ADXchange.
