Luxury watchmaker Cartier International said it is withdrawing the lawsuit filed against Apple. The company alleged that two applications for the iPhone infringed on the trademark for the former’s Tank watches, reported the Wall Street Journal.
The company said that the applications were removed from Apple’s App store.
Jonathan Lagarenne, the attorney for Fox Rothschild LLD representing Cartier, said that their concerns have been addressed.
An Apple spokeswoman said that the company had been informed about the withdrawal of the lawsuit.
Earlier the company filed a lawsuit in the US District Court in Manhattan which alleged that the two applications give people the ability to tell time on the iPhone which simulated its wristwatches.
This is not the first time Apple has been hit by lawsuit, earlier a trio of plaintiffs filed a suit in the US District Court in San Jose, claiming that Apple’s MagSafe power connectors have a design flaw and can break or start fire. The trio pointed out that Apple has known about the problems but has done nothing about them.
Headquartered in Paris, Cartier is a jeweller and watch manufacturer and is a subsidiary of luxury goods maker Compagnie Financière Richemont.
