Stratagem Plc is now the proud owner of the Touchstone Group Plc and has got together with the remaining directors of Touchstone to hammer out a strategy. David Ewart and Owen Williams, chairman and chief executive respectively, quit Touchstone when the Stratagem bid became unconditional (CI No 1,610). However, Touchstone’s business development director Roy Sunley remained and for his pains is to become managing director of Touchstone’s maintenance division Firstpoint. The strategy appears to be that Touchstone is to be kept at arms length with low corporate involvement from Stratagem.
