Fujitsu Ltd has now joined in the Japanese personal computer price war with six new desktop computers that are three times as powerful as earlier models but at a similar price: the lowest-priced, based on Intel Corp’s 80386SX microprocessor, starts at $1,350, 80486SX-based models start at $1,515 and 80486DX2 models at $4,560; base models in Japan usually have no disk; Fujitsu also announced notebook machines starting at $1,825 for a monochrome 80386SX-based model, and $4,000 with active matrix colour displayand based on an 80486SX processor.
