And Lotus Development Corp has upgraded Notes with a new Version 2.0 that adds seamless integration for remote laptop computer users; expanded imaging capabilities with support for Super VGA and automatic storage compression; application integration with Dynamic Data Exchange and Object, Linking & Embedding for complete integration with DDE-supported Windows 3.0 applications; and enhanced security, including the ability to encrypt fields and documents when stored; Notes 2.0 will be sold via the Lotus Notes direct sales force and by a defined group of Notes Value Added Resellers authorised through a new programme also announced yesterday; from the direct sales force it costs $62,500 per 200 units with five days of on-site support and six months of telephone support.
