Zenith Data Systems has centralised its European microcomputer production at Groupe Bull’s Villeneuve d’Ascq manufacturing facility: Zenith, acquired by Groupe Bull in December 1989, says that it has increased production to 600 units per day, more than double 1990’s average figure and enough to meet European-wide demand; the figures include those of the MinisPort and SupersPort computers, formerly manufactured at Kells in Ireland; Zenith accounts for 50% of the French facility’s output, and the remaining 50% is Bull terminals, workstations and servers; Zenith’s printed circuit boards, formerly assembled in the US, are now being assembled at Bull’s Angers fac-ility, at a rate of 400 per day.
