Sunnyvale-based Calculus Inc has proudly become the first company to graduate from network vendor Artisoft Inc’s testing procedures and has also passed out of Novell Inc labs, receiving tested and approved certificates from both; Calculus’ EZ-FaxLan family of network facsimile machines enable users to share a fax card, reducing the per station cost of a personal computer facsimile service while providing service to all client stations on the network; this is achieved by providing a non-dedicated server, meaning that the workstation containing the facsimile board is available for personal computer as well; the products also operate on 3Com 3+, Microsoft LAN Manager, IBM PC LAN, Banyan Vines, CBIS Network-OS and Ungermann-Bass Net/One nets.
