San Jose-based Cypress Semiconductor Corp has taken an undisclosed equity stake of less than 10% in QuickLogic Corp to seal an agreement for joint development of products using QuickLogic’s high speed field-programmable gate arrays, which Cypress will fabricate; the agreement gives Cypress rights to QuickLogic’s current devices, the QL8X12 and QL12X16; the planned products, planned to be available late in the fourth quarter, will be used in high-end personal computers, workstations, servers and other application-specific computers.
