SAS and Teradata have announced plans to establish a Business Analytics Innovation Center, where customers can discuss analytic best practices with domain and subject-matter experts, and test or implement innovative models that uncover insights for optimising business operations.

The companies said that the Business Analytics Innovation Center will combine the strengths of SAS, Teradata, and Elder Research, an analytical consulting firm for data mining and predictive analytics, to help customers across all industries to grow revenue, reduce risk and improve operations.

In addition, the new Center will incorporate thought leadership with a visionary lab for pilot programs, analytic workshops, and proofs of concept for prospective customers across a myriad of industries, including financial services, retail, government, health care and life sciences, and insurance.

Darryl McDonald, chief marketing officer at Teradata, said: “Since our partnership began, SAS and Teradata have successfully helped customers determine how to best apply analytics within a scalable, in-database infrastructure. One leading grocery store chain estimated that its analytics strategy, developed with SAS and Teradata, would generate $200m in incremental sales.

“By capitalising on the synergies of SAS, Teradata and ERI through the Business Analytics Innovation Center, we can continue to provide the world’s best business analytics platform, software and service while helping customers drive breakthrough innovation through analytic consulting.”
