IBM believes that today’s teens will take from a computer what they won’t accept from their parents and teachers, and for $1,995, it is offering a PS/2 program in the US that permits viewers an opportunity to vicariously experience high-risk situations involving alcohol and other drug use. IBM says that its new Target Interactive Project Drug and Alcohol Responsibility for Teens, will enable users to learn refusal techniques, see the consequences of use, and develop peer interaction skills. Most of which could be achieved more cheaply by sharing a joint. Big Mother imagines that in a typical teenage party setting, the viewer follows any of the seven selectable characters throughout their varied inter-actions at the party. When the character is faced with a decision to use or not use any of the five nefarious substances, the choice is made by touching the screen and the video instantly branches, permitting the viewer to see the results of that decision. TIP-DART runs on PS/2 using the InfoWindow Presentation System.
