US Sprint Communications Inc, Kansas city, Missouri has won a three-year, $25m from Data Communications Corp of Korea to build a public packet-switched data network for South Korea: the new Dacom Network Services already has customers in waiting, including the Korean steel industry, which will use it to track inventories, process orders and communicate with suppliers, and the Korean Postal Service, which plans to offer an on-line postal banking service, with terminals in 500 post offices throughout the country; the network will use 25 Telenet TP4900 series packet switches in 10 major access centres, with two network control centres in Seoul; the Telenet Network Color Monitor, which provides operations staff with a real-time display of network activity in colour graphics will also be used, with the Telenet Network Management Information System for network planning and inventory and user billing.
