Bocada, a provider of data protection management software, has unveiled version 5.4 of its Bocada Enterprise. According to Bocada, the new version provides visibility into backup policy configuration to allow customers to deliver data protection services.
The company said that the new version comes with automated policy reporting for multiple backup applications. It eliminates the requirement for users to manually gather policy information for streamlining operations and guarantying compliance.
With Bocada Enterprise 5.4, users can view the various policies that have been created on all of their servers, and review client policy configurations. Consistent policy review helps to improve data protection results with improved recoverability, successful delivery of SLAs, reduction of excess capacity use, and meet compliance requirements, the company claims.
The company further claims that the new version, when used in conjunction with other key Bocada Enterprise reports such as occupancy trending, allows users to review and modify policies to reduce the total cost of ownership (ToC).
Ryan Finnamore, product manager at Bocada, said: Customers need to ensure that their policies are effectively supporting the business goals of the company as it relates to recoverability, compliance, SLA adherence and capacity management. Bocada Enterprise 5.4 provides the visibility required for customers to quickly and easily review policies and determine if changes need to be made to meet those goals.
