AT&T and Motorola have announced the Motorola Karma QA1, a new messaging device that lets users to text, blog, tweet or talk.
According to Motorola, the Karma is designed for mobile socialising with features such as text messaging, instant messaging and homescreen access to Facebook and MySpace. It has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and has access to the 3G network.
The new device has IM-style texting with an ‘all-in-one’ view of messages and scroll navigation to keep track of conversations and stay organised. It enables users to send instant messages to multiple recipients using services like Yahoo! Messenger and Windows Live Messenger. The new device uses the CrystalTalk technology to amplify the conversation and reduce background noise.
The company said that social networking users can add Facebook and MySpace quick launch icons to the homepage for one-click access. It also comes with JuiceCaster service which enables users to connect with people and share photos and videos directly from the device.
In addition, users can also access AT&T Navigator, powered by Motorola Karma’s GPS technology to find their way with turn-by-turn directions.
Jeff Miller, vice president of Motorola Mobile Devices, said: Today’s savvy mobile phone users are looking for more from their devices than just an easy way to text – they want to update their social networking status, instant message multiple friends, make calls and of course, text, all while on the go. Motorola Karma gives consumers ultimate control over their conversations, no matter how they decide to stay in touch.
