The US General Services Board of Contract Appeals has upheld Dallas-based Sterling Software Inc second protest of the proposed award of a contract at the NASA/Ames Research Centre to Computer Sciences Corp and directed NASA to award the contract to Sterling, disqualifying Computer Sciences from further participation in the tender for making a material misrepresentation in its proposal to NASA – the award had gone to Computer Sciences solely on the grounds of price and Sterling insisted that its bid was lower; based on Sterling’s proposal, the value of the first 12 months of the pact is estimated to be over $24m and there are extension options.
