Dataserv’s UK Computer Maintenance & Retail divisions have been acquired by a management buy-in consortium led by Hillsdown Investment Trust Ltd. The company will continue to operate from the existing offices at Welwyn Garden City but will trade under the name DCM Services Ltd. Peter Clair is to be executive chairman of the new company, having until recently been managing director of MBS Microtex which was acquired last week by Logitek. DCM’s managing director is Joel Jervis, formerly managing director of the service division of Systems Reliability. Clair intends to achieve a turnover of UKP6m during the company’s first year of operation and will be planning acquisitions. The leasing and trading of computer systems will remain the company’s main area of business, but it intends to expand its retail side as a top priority. The terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed.
