Timegate Computer Systems Ltd, acquired for UKP1.8m by the fast growing Pi Holdings in May 1989 (CI N0 1,185), has restructured its business to function as two separate operating companies. The industrial division has become Timegate Manufacturing Solutions, and the services division is now called Timegate Computer Services. The company was previously managed by Noel Kirkwood. He is now a Pi Holdings divisional director with responsibility for the Timegate companies, Orion Network Communications, and Pi’s most recent acquisition, Information Management Ltd (CI No 1,335). Timegate Manufacturing Solutions will be headed by Terry Bingham, formerly marketing director, and the systems development director Neil Biddlestone, is to be managing director of Timegate Computer Services. Timegate Manufacturing Services specialises in IBM mid-range and mainframe computers, and uses MRPII, JIT, and OPT methodologies. Timegate Computer Systems develops application systems and provides technical services and consultancy, especially in the field of computer-aided software engineering and fourth generation languages. It also runs a range of bureau and facilities management services.
