Alpha Microsystems Inc, Santa Ana, California is developing a Posix-compliant version of its proprietary operating system AMOS, to be called AMOS 3.0. In January, the company failed to win a definitive agreement on its proposed acquisition of General Automation Inc, and subsequently acquired Rexon Business Machines Corp which operates in Xenix and Pick environments. Alpha Microsystems has previously expressed its commitment to Open Systems Interconnection, and it expects to unveil systems running both Unix and AMOS within the next 12 months.
