HP has launched the HP Photosmart Premium with TouchSmart Web, a new web-connected printer with HP applications (apps) which are viewable on a TouchSmart panel and allow users to connect with personal content.

The new web-connected printer features a 4.33-inch touchscreen and can print, fax, copy and scan documents. With an array of wired and wireless connectivity options, the new printer could print directly from Wi-Fi-enabled PCs, Bluetooth-enabled devices, the Apple iPhone and the Apple iPod touch using HP iPrint Photo.

The company said that in addition to receiving apps preloaded on the printer, users can download applications at the HP Apps Studio. Users would be able to browse and view web destinations and touch the app of their choice to launch a web page where they can customise and print content on demand.

The company also said that the new web-connected printer also will connect directly to a user’s Snapfish account to view, print and upload photos. Users additionally can access projects from the HP Creative Studio.

The new printer is an ENERGY STAR qualified product. ENERGY STAR is a US registered mark of the United States Environmental Protection Agency.
