Advanced Micro Devices Inc, already close to Sony Corp, has signed a broad-ranging patent and copyright cross-licence agreement covering patents on process, design and architectures for integrated circuits owned by AMD and Sony Semiconductor: the agreement runs through April 1, 1996 and is designed to support co-operation between the two in the development of 0.5 micron CMOS process technology.
