Rank Xerox (UK) Ltd – now calling itself The Document Company – yesterday launched its multi-functional document publishing device, the Xerox DocuTech Production Publisher, which was announced in the US in October (CI No 1,524): Rank Xerox will be taking first orders for the mainframe computer, which processes images rather than data, on January 1, for ships in March, at a cost of around UKP140,000; Her Majesty’s Stationary Office will be one of the first customers, selling to central government; Rank Xerox has also announced a three-year Total Satisfaction Guarantee which applies to all its hardware equipment installed – as from yesterday.
