Micrel, a provider of analog, high bandwidth communications, and Ethernet IC products, has entered into a partnership with Multigig, to offer ultra-low jitter Clock Synthesizers and Jitter Attenuators based on Multigig’s RotaryWave technology, which are suitable for high speed wireline and wireless communication applications with stringent phase noise requirement.

According to Micreal, the new line of PLL-based Clock Synthesizer products are designed to take a low frequency crystal input and produce very low jitter high frequency differential or single-ended outputs, with frequency of up to 850MHz. It also offers a range of output types like LVCMOS, LVPECL, LVDS, and HCSL. These are targeted at datacom, telecom networking, storage applications, PCI Express, and broadcast video.

Rami Kanama, director of high bandwidth products at Micrel said: The addition of Multigig’s high performance Clock Synthesizers and Jitter Attenuator products complement Micrel’s high-end Precision Edge clock product portfolio very nicely. These products are the highest performance available on the market today, with jitter in the sub-100 femtosecond range, ultra-low power consumption, and excellent Power Supply Rejection Ratio (PSRR).”

Haris Basit, founder and chief strategy officer of Multigig, said: “Multigig is delighted to be partnering with Micrel on this product family. Micrel’s existing customer base and product lines combined with their excellent reputation for reliability and customer service provide an ideal complement for these leading edge RotaryWave based products.
