British Telecommunications Plc has bought four Tandem Computers VLX machines to run its new credit card system, in a deal worth UKP1.5m; under the system, launched last year, British Telecom credit card account holders can make calls and have the cost billed directly to their business or domestic telephone account: Telecom expects the system to have expanded to 16 processors by 1993.
