Huawei has launched end-to-end (E2E) 100G products at P&T/Wireless & Network Comm China 2009 in Beijing. Product offerings include 100GE cards for routers and 100G OTU for its WDM platform.

The company claims that the new offering will enable operators to establish enhanced ultra-broadband networks and provide their subscribers with services, such as mobile broadband, high-definition video and enterprise telepresence.

According to Huawei, the new offering can be implemented through networking of the 100GE port-based NE5000E router cluster system and the OSN6800/8800 OTN system supporting ’40/80-channel x 100G’. This is expected to result in enhanced network capacity, simplifying network architecture and enriching service offerings.

The 100GE cards for routers will increase switching capacity of the NE5000E router cluster system to 200T, allowing operators to meet network capacity expansion requirements. Adopting its self-developed Solar 2.0 100G chipsets, new router cards will offer wire-speed forwarding capability and guaranteed services at 100G wire-speed, the company claims.

Based on 100G optical/electrical module and core chips, the WDM 100G OTU is compatible with both advanced coding modulation and coherent detection techniques and provides hybrid transport speeds of 100G and 10G/40G, enabling 40/80-channel 1500 km transport, Huawei said.

Ding Yun, president of network product line at Huawei, said: Over the years, Huawei has put forth tremendous effort in the area of IP and optical networks to better meet the requirements of our customers, develop innovative solutions and actively advance the 100G standardisation. Huawei is proud to be the industry’s sole supplier of E2E 100G solutions.
