Panorama Software has launched NovaView for PowerPivot, a business intelligence suite that is built on Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 PowerPivot platform and includes managed self-service BI capability and in-memory engine.

The company claims that the BI suite adds new dimensions and capabilities to the PowerPivot platform, making it easier to use and more functional. It brings self-service BI capabilities such as intuitive web interface, advanced analytics and a data level security layer.

According to Panorama, the NovaView for PowerPivot enables users to perform analysis, including smart exceptions, instant calculations, data formatting and more. It also enables information workers to build reports, create executive dashboards or deliver insights directly to their Microsoft Office Outlook application.

In addition, the new offering also provides a data security layer on top of PowerPivot models, offering the same set of BI tools for OLAP, relational and in-memory (PowerPivot) data sources, enabling a secured web-based team and departmental collaboration, Panorama said.

Eynav Azarya, CEO of Panorama Software, said: Microsoft PowerPivot is the ultimate platform for managed self-service BI. With the latest integration of NovaView for PowerPivot, organisations are now able to get the most out of this new in-memory platform and extend it with a self-service BI suite that can satisfy the needs of the most advanced users as well as the broader information worker community.
