Alvarion, a provider of WiMax and wireless broadband products, has extended its portfolio of BreezeACCESS VL product family for license exempt bands of 5GHz and 900 MHz.

BreezeACCESS VL is a point-to-multipoint product that reportedly provides bandwidth allocation to data, voice and video applications with networking capabilities to reduce network overhead and improve quality of service (QoS).

According to Alvarion, the new BreezeACCESS VL 900 point-to-multipoint product provides long range capability and a net throughput of 8Mbps. It also enables deployment capabilities leveraging automatic algorithms based on statistics collection, for installation and improved performance. In addition, the new product has an extended non-line-of-sight (NLOS), with an enhanced QoS for voice data and video applications.

The company said that the enhancements to existing BreezeACCESS VL for 5GHz include enhanced QoS, Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS) capabilities and new subscriber unit options. It also provides secure links in both line-of-sight and NLOS applications.

The extended product portfolio includes a range of subscriber units supporting various vertical applications that enable flexible deployment scenarios and scalable upgrade options.

The new BreezeACCESS VL release is suited for many applications including data access, video surveillance, security, intelligent traffic control and first responders, the company said.
