Claiming to be the market leaders in PABXs in Europe, Siemens AG and Alcatel NV yesterday announced that they had agreed a new ISDN standard, IPNS, ISDN PABX Networking Specification, which covers signalling between PABXs over a private network. IPNS uses the Channel D signalling protocol and is claimed to meet recommendations of the Consultative Committee on International Telephony & Telegraphy, CCITT.
