At the winter consumer electronics show in Las Vegas – not a peep out of any computer companies exhibiting there yet – AT&T Co unveiled a residential telephone system that enables residential subscribers to use their telephones as in-house pagers and intercoms without rewiring the phone lines in a house: the Intercom Speakerphone 1050-1020 kit includes a master phone and one extension, and sells for $300 with additional Intercom Speakerphone 1020 extensions costing $150 each; also new is the Answering System 1531 combination telephone and answering machine and the Clock Radio Telephone 330, including all three.
