AT&T Co has a version of its PagePower imaging software that enables personal computers to share facsimile resources on a local area network. AT&T claims that PagePower Release 2.1 enables StarLAN networks to send and receive facsimile messages using a single fax board on a server, eliminating the need for multiple fax boards and analogue telephone lines, when used with AT&T’s Fax Connection board. AT&T has also announced the Intelligent Ports Card, IPC-900, an asynchronous device for AT&T 6286 and 6386 WorkGroup System computers. The IPC-900 plugs into computers and has eight RJ-45 modular connectors for host-to-host terminals, printers, modems and other asynchronous equipment. In addition, the company has a software upgrade, Version 3.0 Unix device driver, available for users of the existing IPC-802 ports card.
