Canon has launched new Color imageRUNNER LBP5460, a desktop laser beam printer (LBP) with for mid-volume workgroups that intends to print colour and black-and-white documents.

Canon said that utilising its Color RAPID Fusing System and short vertical paper path, the LBP5460 printer delivers letter-sized output speeds of up to 31 pages-per-minute in colour and black-and-white. The RAPID fusing system is expected to reduce warm-up time for first prints and reduce overall energy consumption.

The company said that the LBP5460 printer features a new five-line LCD user interface (UI), and remote UI utility which enables users to check the unit’s status, track current job progress, monitor paper and toner levels and administer mail boxes of stored documents saved on the system.

According to Canon, the LBP5460 printer includes a new front-loading, all-in-one cartridge and new HTML-based documentation to locate answers to maintenance questions. In addition, administrators can utilise management tools such as imageWARE Accounting Manager and imageWARE Enterprise Management Console to integrate device management within an imageRUNNER MFP infrastructure.

Reportedly, the LBP5460 printer supports UFR II, PCL and PostScript 3 emulation. With optional features that include the company’s wireless LAN kit, bar code printing, and support for IPv6/SNMPv3 protocol.
