IBM UK is in the process of notifying customers that almost all hardware prices are to go up by 5% for equipment ordered after March 30 – and those that ordered before have to install by June 29 to get the old price. Exceptions are PS/2 system units – but not add-ons and features; personal computer printers; AS/400 memory; the 3990 disk controller; some modems and banking systems; the IDNX; and plotters. Hardware announced after the beginning of the year is excluded – except for the C10, C20 and C25 models of the AS/400 – IBM clearly wants to rush users into buying those and installing them by the middle of the year.
