Amax, a provider of custom servers, storage and HPC products, has launched a new series of Foxhollow based servers utilising Intel’s Xeon 3400 Series (Lynnfield) processors.

According to Amax, the new ServMax Lynnfield servers provide lower power consumption using 45nm Nehalem microarchitecture with Integrated Memory Controller and PCI-Express 2.0 I/O.

Amax claims that with support for DDR3 ECC memory, the new ServMax Lynnfield based servers deliver 50% more performance, and lower power consumption compared to the previous generation servers.

The company said that the ServMax Lynnfield servers also include: general purpose Uni-Processor server with necessary server class features; supports Intel Xeon 3400 chipset, Intel Turbo Boost and Intel Hyper-Threading technologies; and provides internal storage and I/O flexibility.

Amax said that the new server line comes with Intel Rapid Storage technology, with support for RAID 0/1/5/10 and Intel Rapid Recover technology; and Intel Active Management technology to remotely discover, heal, and protect workstations.
