Cipher Data Products Inc says that business from its half-inch reel-to-reel and 5.25 tape drive businesses will be less than originally estimated for the fourth quarter of its fiscal year to June 30, but that the addition of revenues from the Irwin minicartridge tape drive line acquired in April will still enable the company to post record results for the quarter and year, making marginal profits on sales of $60m in the quarter where analysts had looked for sales of some $70m.
