Archive Corp’s Maynard subsidiary in Lake Mary, Florida has has increased capacity of its MaynStream digital audio tape drives to 2.0Gb and reduced the size to fit the 3.5 half height form factor: it will be available from first quarter of 1991, at no increase in price – which is $5,500 to $6,200; Maynard also introduced a new generation of its QICStream software for its Archive VP series of tape back-up subsystems – release 2.01 adds user-configured features that customise the back-up and retrieval processes to address the specific requirements of each installation; it’s also out first quarter 1991.
