Toshiba’s Digital Products Division (DPD), a division of Toshiba America Information Systems, has unveiled the Satellite T100 Series, a new class of ultra-thin laptops, which measures less than one inch thick and weighs 3.49 pounds. Toshiba said that with Windows 7 and Intel ultra-low voltage processors, the new notebooks’ features include fast resume from standby times and up to 9 hours of battery life.
The new notebooks are equipped with Windows 7 Home Premium, hard drives, DDR3 memory and expansion ports, including HDMI-out. It also features built-in Wireless N technology and bluetooth, which available on select models, the company said.
Toshiba added that the laptops feature full-sized keyboards and full-sized Touch Pads with Multi-touch Control, enabling flexibility to browse and control with gesture commands, such as two-finger pinch, swipe, rotate and scroll.
According to the company, the Satellite T100 Series laptops also include a Hard Drive Impact Sensor that helps guard data, and a USB port with Sleep-and-Charge technology, which enables users to charge various consumer electronics, even when the laptop is turned off. The laptops also feature a built-in webcam with face recognition allowing users to live chat from anywhere.
The company said that its new laptops will be available in two screen sizes and various colour options. The Satellite T135 features a 13.3-inch diagonal widescreen display and will be available with Toshiba’s Fusion Finish in Nova Red, Nova Black and Nova White. The Satellite T115 offers an 11.6-inch diagonal widescreen display and will be available in Nova Red and Nova Black.
The Toshiba Satellite T135 (starting from $600 MSRP) and Satellite T115 (starting from $450 MSRP) will both be available on October 22, 2009 at major retailers, e-tailers and direct from Toshiba on its website.
