BakBone Software said that it will launch Open Data Protection platform extending its focus from traditional tape-based data protection offerings to disk-based technology.
BakBone said, with the new disk-based platform, users will be able to centralise their data protection operations under one pane of glass, even with third party applications, while offering the ability to deduplicate their data using the company’s technology or using third party deduplication technology.
The new disk-based platform follows its latest release of disk-based NetVault: FastRecover product that provides disk-based, real-time data protection capabilities for Microsoft Exchange, SQL Server and Windows file servers.
Jeff Drescher, VP of marketing at BakBone. “Our new Open Data Protection platform builds on our current solutions, offering a way to centralise data protection by integrating with all data protection applications in an environment. With the changing time and increasing demands, BakBone is committed to delivering the technology to help our customers with all of their data needs.”
Looking ahead, the company plans to bring multiple releases to the market around its new platform and continue to push its product suite into new territory.
