Wilsonville, Oregon-based Tektronix Inc formed a strategic alliance with Munich instruments manufacturer Rohde & Schwarz GmbH & Co, which it says will more than double Tektronix’s addressable market in the telecommunications area: under the agreement, Tektronix will assume exclusive marketing, distribution, service and support responsibility for Rohde & Schwarz radio frequency and microwave communication and television test and measurement products in the US and Rohde & Schwarz will handle marketing, distribution, service and support for Tektronix’s test and measurement, telecommunications and television test and measurement lines in Eastern Europe and Commonwealth of Independent States, and in most of the Mediterranean and the Middle East.
