Xenon Computer Systems Ltd has been bought into by former Logitek Plc director Jim Pickup and two other ex-directors. The UKP6m company, which focuses on network consultancy and maintenance, was bought into for an unspecified sum with a combination of private funds and backing from Barclays Development Capital. Pickup, who quit the Logitek distribution business in 1991, bought into the computer-based firm and an Isle of Man-based company, Xenon Computer Systems (IoM) Ltd. One company in the group has been ignored – Xenon Computer Systems Scotland Ltd, an electronics monitoring equipment company which isn’t part of the group’s core business. Pickup, accompanied by the original managing director of the Isle of Man company and the UK technical services director, will work with ex-Logitek directors Frank Noon and Ian Johnson to grow the business fourfold in the next five years. They will expand the core business, with heavy emphasis on maintenance, and will increase the 90-strong workforce, mainly in the sales and marketing area. Pickup seemed unsure of how he would attack the highly competitive computer maintenance sector, though, simply saying We’ll work harder.
