Commodore International Ltd has announced a joint effort to form CDTV Consortium Japan, with Mitsui & Co, for the promotion and development of CDTV players and titles in Japan. The two founding companies have invited others to join them in their pursuit of bringing CDTV multimedia to the masses. This was all announced at the recent Tokyo International Multimedia Expo ’91. Commodore, Mitsui and Dai-Nippon Printing Co, the Japanese printing company, are the managing companies and will disseminate information on CDTV to consortium members. Japan Electronics Publishing, PCM Complete are among those that have already started planning Japanese software titles.
