Apple said that it will launch iPad tablet computer in nine more countries including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK on May 28, 2010, following its successful launch in the US last month.

 

The company said that customers can pre-order all iPad models from Apple online store in all nine countries from May 10.

 

Apple has sold over one million iPads, just a month after the new tablet computer hit the US market, and customers have downloaded over 12 million apps from the App Store, as well as over 1.5 million ebooks from the new iBookstore.

 

Apple’s iPad, which is pitched somewhere between a smartphone and a netbook, weighs around 1.5 pounds and features 9.7-inch LED-backlit display with IPS technology that delivers images with 178 degree viewing angle. It allows users to surf the web, read and send emails, watch videos, play games and read eBooks.

 

Apple also plans to release iPad in Austria, Belgium, Hong Kong, Ireland, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand and Singapore in July.
