Microsoft Corp says that four more hardware manufacturers have joined the rush to build computers supporting Windows for Pen Computing – Sony Corp, Matsushita Electronic Co Ltd, Alps Electric Inc and Hyundai. This adds to the 29 other vendors that have allegedly pledged support for Microsoft’s Pen Windows. Existing supporters include AST Research, Canon USA Inc, Dell Computer Corp, GRiD Systems Corp, Fujitsu Ltd, Hitachi Ltd, Kyocera Corp, Mitsubishi Electric Industry Co, NEC Corp, NCR Corp, Ing C Olivetti & Co, Oki Electric Industry Corp, Samsung Electronics, Sharp Corp, Toshiba Corp, Wang Laboratories Inc and Zenith Data Systems. Microsoft Windows for Pens has been in development for three years and is planned for ships early next year, within weeks of the new Windows 3.1 release.
