Mitsubishi Electric Corp has come out with a super-thin version of its MF355S 3.5 microfloppy disk drive: the MF355E cuts the thickness of the drive to 0.58 from the 0.67 of the MF355S the disks themselves are an eighth of an inch thick. The device uses a direct drive motor and comes in models storing 2Mb, 1.6Mb and 1Mb. The drives are offered in sample quantities at $147 a time, with volume production set to start in June.
