Cap Gemini Sogeti SA and the Petrotechnical Open Software Corp, the organisation created by the world’s five largest oil companies to develop systems standards for their industry, have signed an international partnership agreement under which Cap Gemini will consult for companies installing systems based on the standards, while the Petroleum Corp will bring to Cap Gemini its industry know-how and training and consulting on the use of the standards; the alliance was concluded by Cap Gemini America, which has been responsible for the petrochemical industry worldwide since January; the petroleum industry standards body was created in 1990 by BP Exploration, Chevron Corp, Elf-Aquitaine, Mobil Oil and Texaco and is based in Houston and London.
