Alcatel NV has announced that its Alcatel Radiotelephone affiliate has been awarded a contract to supply and install trunk Private Mobile Radio infrastructure networks for the Aeroport de Paris authority. Alcatel was selected after a competitive prequalification phase by the SERTA joint venture between Aeroports de Paris, and a subsidiary of France Telecom. The networks are to be installed at the Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports, and will have a total capacity for around 4,000 subscribers. The pact is valued at some $1.2m.
