Microsoft is all set to join the social networking bandwagon with its offering Socl.com.
According to the Verge, which was able to get a sneak peek of this site, it is incorporating many of the features already present in Facebook, Twitter and Google+.
The site is built on HTML5 and therefore does not require the use of plugins such as Microsoft’s Silverlight.
It is said to majorly revolve around its search engine Bing.
One major difference between Socl and other social networks is the absence of "listing" features.
It also reportedly does not let you tag individual users.
According to The Verge, Socl doesn’t give users the choice to create friends groups based on work, likes or locations like Google Circle’s or Facebook’s Smart Lists.
Since Socl is a research project, it is being opined there is a possibility that it could never get released for public, says the analyst at the Verge. But he avoids a conjecture.
