Unified end-user computing offerings provider Centrix Software has released a host of new features for its end-user computing analytics product Centrix WorkSpace iQ.

With the latest version Centrix WorkSpace iQ organisations can streamline the delivery of desktop transformation projects and operate infrastructure optimally.

Centrix has also released WorkSpace iQ as a cloud-based service, enabling customers to benefit from deep end-user computing analytics without the need for supporting in-house infrastructure.

With WorkSpace iQ organisations can reduce the cost of managing and maintaining software, manage desktop transformation more efficiently and make more informed decisions about new IT investments, strategies and IT sourcing methods, said the company.

Centrix WorkSpace iQ 5.2 new features include Windows 7 Migration Assessment Reporting which enable organisations to reduce compatibility issues by up to 90% and a management dashboard with which organisations can obtain a high level view of metrics about hardware, software, and users and can continually track the operational efficiency of the end-user computing infrastructure.

The Centrix WorkSpace iQ 5.2 also features user profile reports which provides a complete assessment of personal settings and environment variables for each user so that IT can migrate the appropriate startup application settings based on individual requirements.

In addition, the WorkSpace iQ 5.2 features resource consumption intensity reporting that analyses the resource consumption profile and intensity for every application session and also a user experience impact Report that quantifies peak logon loads for groups of users so that IT can plan effective I/O requirements in particular for virtual desktop environments to accommodate peak loads such as boot storms.

WorkSpace iQ is now available as a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offering to enable organisations to benefit from WorkSpace iQ without the need for on-premise infrastructure. The SaaS version of WorkSpace iQ leverages the Microsoft Azure platform and it provides secure encrypted and protected data capture, delivery and storage as a subscription service.

Centrix Software Product Marketing director Richard Pegden said by knowing more about the dynamics of their end-user computing environments and how IT assets are actually being used, desktop and application teams are able to make more accurate, more informed business and technology decisions about applications and desktop change.

"By taking a user-centric approach to desktop transformation with WorkSpace iQ, organisations can ensure faster business return from new technology investments while optimising their environments for cost savings and greater business efficiency," said Pegden.
