The US International Trade Commission ordered a four-month delay in the investigation of the patent dispute between Texas Instruments Inc and five US semiconductor companies: the semiconductor defendants believe that Texas sought to narrow its claim so that it could eventually take another action against the same firms after the current case is concluded, tying them up in protracted and expensive legal matters regarding the top gating chip encapsulation method; Cypress Semiconductor Corp, LSI Logic Corp, VLSI Technology Inc, Integrated Device Technology Inc and Analog Devices Inc are the five defendents.
