Vodafone Group Plc is calling its answer to Cellnet Mobile Communications Ltd’s Project Liberty low volume cellular tariff option LowCall – that means low number of calls, and not low-price calls because it estimates that if you make more than one call a day, the standard business tariff will work out cheaper: it now says it plans to start offering it in October, getting in ahead of Cellnet, which launches in November despite announcing first; the company reckons that if 100,000 business users move to the new tariff, it will cost it UKP8m off profits; if it signs 100,000 new users as a result of LowCall, it will put on UKP18m.
