Now that Redwood City, California-based NeXT Inc has joined the Object Management Group, Steve Jobs’ company is threatening to submit its technology for consideration – only the Object Group doesn’t know what technology NeXT means. Possibly it might have something to do with interoperability at the class library level or maybe a little something for the Object Management Group’s next Request for Technology on services. The Object Group figures that it was easier for NeXT simply to sign up to join the organisation than it would have been to go on explaining why it wasn’t a member.
