Canon UK Ltd says it is signalling the end of thermal facsimile machines with the launch of its bubblejet plain paper B200: the new UKP900 machine, with diminutive A4-sized footprint, doubles as a low volume photocopier, producing up to 50 copies from one original; it is Group III-compatible with 20 second transmission time for A4 originals; it has seven one touch and 30 coded speed dialling options, five sheet automatic document feeder, 50 sheet capacity and 20 sheet memory; the copier offers five optional coloured ink cartridges and 64 halftone shading to cope with photographs; the machine can transmit and receive documents while printing from memory, has an optional Mercury button and an automatic fax/telephone and fax/answerphone switch.
